Educator Visits

    About Us > Educator Visits

Caroline Pratt always hoped to spread her philosophy of progressive education far beyond the walls of City and Country School. To that end, C&C has created programs to introduce teachers from other schools and backgrounds to our program. One such opportunity we offer is Educator Visits, which allow outside teachers and administrators to observe our program in action during the school day at C&C.

Educators participating in these visits will have the opportunity to observe a small sample of our School’s schedule, which may include block building, instructional learning, woodworking, yard work, and more. Please be aware that not all activities may be available for observation. Our hope is that each educator would be able to experience a student block build during their visit; however because of our program and the students’ schedules, this is not always possible.

Educator visits begin mid-October and continue through mid-May, weekly on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Educators may register to visit at the following times:

Morning session: 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Afternoon session: 12:00–3:00 p.m.
Full-day sessions available upon request

To minimize disruptions to our students’ days, availability for educator visits may be limited. Please request visits at least three weeks in advance of the visit. Large groups of five or more should request at least one month in advance.

Following the visit, each educator will be asked to complete a feedback form, which allows us to adjust our offerings to meet educator needs and give the best experience possible.

COVID Safety Protocols: Visitors to City and Country School must show proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Masks are not required.
