Admissions Process Checklist

Submit your application.

For the 2024–2025 school year, the birthday cut-off date is September 1. For example, children applying for the 2s must be two years old before September 1, 2024.

To apply, click HERE. Applications are available August 1 with a deadline of December 1. We require a $75 application service fee (unless you are applying for financial aid). Financial assistance is available for applicants in the 5s (Kindergarten) and older. Thank you!

Attend an Information Session and Tour.

We invite you to join us for an Information Session and Tour. These sessions offer a detailed look at our school, including a photo and video presentation about our program, a tour of our campus, and a mingling session with current parents. Click HERE to register for one of our upcoming sessions. You are not required to submit an application prior to attending an info session.

Register for the Open House.

Join us on November 15, 2023, to meet our exceptional teachers and current families at our Open House! This event will provide attendees with more information about what makes our historically significant progressive program dynamic and engaging. You’ll also be able to tour our campus with our best spokespeople: our Eighth Graders! The Open House is designed for grownups, so please leave little ones at home; however, if your child is applying for 6th grade or older, they’re welcome to tag along and join us as we proudly show and tell what distinguishes our school. To register for this event, click HERE. No need to apply first.

Schedule a conversation with a member of the Admissions Team.

Designed as a get-to-know-you experience for all involved, your conversation with Elise Bauer or Tara DiGerlando from Admissions can take place in person at C&C or on Zoom—your choice! Either option is equally fine with us. Once you’ve submitted your application you’ll be able to schedule this appointment via your online C&C account. Please note: This conversation should take place after you’ve attended an Information Session.

Register for Special Admissions Events.

We strongly encourage you to attend the below events as each offers an additional window into C&C’s historic program and forward-thinking community.

Submit your child's most recent school report.

If your child attends school, we ask that you request the school to submit the most recent school report. All school reports should be submitted to schoolreports@cityandcountry.org no later than January 8, 2024.

Schedule a conversation with current parents.

We are offering Zoom calls for applicant parents to chat with current C&C parents. This small-group exchange will provide applicants with additional insight into the C&C experience and also highlight how the program is intentionally designed to build through age groups at C&C. Once you’ve submitted your application you’ll be able to schedule this appointment via your online C&C account.

Apply for Financial Aid (5s and older).

City and Country School offers financial aid to applicants for the 5s and above. We seek to support as many families as possible, and our award decisions are based solely on demonstrated need. For detailed instructions on how to apply, click HERE.

Applicants for the 7s and older will be invited to spend time in one of our current Groups for all or part of a school day. Please expect an email from us to schedule an appointment.

For Everyone:
Please try to keep your stress about your child’s visit at a low level. If we know anything about children (and we think we do!), we know they are capable of a wide variety of behaviors. Meeting them helps us achieve our goal of creating diverse, heterogeneous, and balanced groups of children and families.

If you are located outside of New York and a visit to the area is not possible for you, please be in touch to make arrangements for a virtual student visit.

Receive an email from C&C with your enrollment notification.
