Application Process: Groups 2 to 4

For the 2022–2023 school year, the birthday cut-off date for children applying to the 2s–4s is August 1, 2022; for all other Groups: October 1, 2022. (For example, children applying for the 2s must be two years old before August 1, 2022.)

Submitting an Application

Applications for the 2022–2023 school year will be processed beginning on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

To apply, click HERE. Once we receive your application, we will email you to schedule two things: an interview with Elise Bauer or Nick Smart from Admissions, and a conversation with a current C&C parent who has a child in the age group to which you are applying. All applicants must submit a non-refundable $75 application fee. Thank you!

Learning About C&C

Beginning mid-September, we will be hosting a number of Virtual Info Sessions. These sessions offer a detailed look at our school, including a photo and video presentation about our program, and a virtual mingling session with current parents. Click here to register for one of our upcoming sessions. You are not required to submit an application prior to attending an info session.

School Reports

School reports. If your child attends school, we ask that you request the school to submit the most recent school report. All school reports should be submitted to no later than January 9, 2022.

In the interest of saving paper, we strongly encourage your child's school to email the school report to erikag@cityandcountry.org.

Child Visits

Typically, applicants for the 2s and 3s are invited to a playgroup visit as part of the application experience. In this unusual distanced year, we believe that the connections we make as family and school throughout the process will provide ample information when building our groups for the 2022–2023 school year. With that in mind, we will not be holding "visits" for applicants for the 2s and 3s.

Families applying for the 4s will be contacted in December and January to schedule a short and engaging Zoom call with our Director of the Lower School, Jane Clarke. 4s new to C&C typically join a cohort of students who have already been enrolled at C&C; these conversations with Jane will help us determine the best placement for new students among our current population.

Immunization Requirements

The New York State Department of Health and the New York City Department of Education require all children to be vaccinated prior to admission.

A Special Note About Our Application Form

A special note about our application form: Our application has several open-ended questions that will help us to get to know you and your child. Please know that we expect only a couple of sentences as answers to these questions. Our goal is to make the best match that we can between a family and the School. Of course, we also keep in mind our goal of creating a diverse and balanced population.
