CONFERENCE: Faces of Progressive Education in the 21st Century
Principal Kate Turley and Director of the Lower School Jane Clarke will represent City and Country School in two panels at Sarah Lawrence College's Faces of Progressive Education in the 21st Century Conference.
"In light of the current national dialog surrounding what the purposes of early childhood, public school, and higher education should be, it is a critical time for educators, child development professionals, administrators, and parents to come together and engage in a discourse around what meaningful education is in the 21st century. This conference provides a forum for articulation and discussion of progressive education’s opportunities and challenges impacting children from birth to college." - SLC.
Kate Turley will join the panel Pioneering Progressive Schools at the Century Mark: "Over the next several years, four pioneering progressive schools will celebrate their 100th anniversaries. Leaders of these schools will share with each other and session attendees some of their history and the challenging changes in educational climate they have weathered over the years, evolving in various ways and staying true to their founding principles in many respects. The discussion should offer inspiration and food for thought to those facing contemporary challenges to many of those same principles."
